Revised ward reservation list to be ready this week
Special Correspondent
Bangalore: The State Government will set right anomalies in wards reservation in three or four days and submit a revised ward reservation list to the Karnataka High Court and State Election Commission, Transport Minister R. Ashok has said.
On hearing a batch of petitions last week, the High Court had directed the State Government to take remedial measures in 15 days.
Mr. Ashok, who is also Minister in-charge of Bangalore Urban district, told presspersons here on Tuesday that the revised list would be submitted to the High Court. He said that elections to the BBMP will be held as scheduled on February 21.
Refuting the Opposition’s allegations on the delayed elections, he said the BJP, which came to power 18 months ago, initiated the process by working on ward delimitation and reservation.
He said a draft on sand extraction policy was submitted to the Law Department for scrutiny.
